We are almost to the end of October! The teachers and students cannot believe how fast the time is flying.
On Monday, we participated in a special event, along with other schools, called Read Across the Globe! For more about this cool event (we helped set a world record!), and to see pictures, please visit the special events page

A note from our Nurse: (please read)
Dear Parents,
Since we are approaching cold and flu season, I would like to share some important information with you. I have been seeing many students with common cold symptoms, allergies, vomiting and fevers Some children have come to school when they need to be resting at home as outlined in our school policy. Please let me remind you of our school policies in order to keep down the spread of these illnesses. If we all follow these guidelines and simple steps, it will help to combat the spread of illness throughout our school and in your homes.
1.If your child vomits or has diarrhea prior to coming to school, a period of 24hrs without symptoms must pass before returning to school.
2.If your child has an elevated temperature of 100 or over, a period of 24 hrs without fever medication must pass before returning to school.
3. If your child has an itchy red eye with discharge, please visit the pediatrician prior to returning to school.
Helpful Tips for Staying Healthy:
1. Frequent hand washing is the best way to prevent and combat the spread of germs. Emphasize hand washing to your children before meals and before preparing food, after using the bathroom, when returning home from school, after playing outside, after being around someone that is sick, after sneezing, coughing, or blowing your nose, and after playing with animals.
2. Get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and eat healthy foods.
3. Avoid people that are sick and stay home when you are sick.
4. Disinfect surfaces that are prone to germs (ex. phones, keyboards, doorknobs, light switches, etc...).
Thank you for your help in keeping our students healthy!
Thank you,
Jordana Tavakoli RN, and Caz Hubbard
