Hello parents! Another week has come and gone here at Village. Let's take a look at some things:
Back to School Night was a huge success! Thank you to all the parents who were able to make it. If you were unable to attend, please contact your homeroom teacher about obtaining the information that was handed out in the sessions.
Please look for the following in your child's yellow folder and/or homework planner today:
Spelling list for next week, along with a list of activities you can do with your child to make practicing their words more fun.
A Hopes and Fears conference questionnaire, which you should fill out and bring with you to your conference next Friday.
Homework:
Although homework assignments are subject to change, here is what you should expect on a weekly basis: Reading for 15-20 minutes nightly, and please remember to sign your child's reading log, a math homelink which will reinforce the lesson taught that day, and spelling practice. There might also be handwriting or math enrichment homework, depending on your homeroom teacher, and your child's needs.
Up coming Events!
1. Labor Day: Monday, September 7th. No school on this day.
2. Homeroom Parent Meeting: Wednesday, September 9th from 1:45pm-2:15pm. This meeting is to set expectations for all of our homeroom parents and to answer any questions they might have. This meeting will take place in our team leader, Pat McKenzie's room.
3. Hopes and Fears Conference: Friday, September 11th. No school on this day.
Thank you parents, and enjoy the long weekend!
