Tuesday, March 2nd was Dr. Seuss's birthday, and we celebrated in style! Mrs. Melton, our reading specialist came around to the classrooms to discuss this happy day with us and read some of his wonderful stories. Thank you Mrs. Melton, we LOVE your enthusiasm for reading!!!!!
We are also in the process of finishing up our nonfiction books. The children have been working very hard on this project, with excellent results. We can't wait to share the finished books with family and friends.
This week in grammar, our lesson taught the students what an adjective is and how it enhances a sentence. We will continue with adjectives next week, using them to visualize sentences we are saying, and illustrating our visualizations.

Our spelling pattern for the week was -igh. When written together, these three letters say the long i sound: "i."
