On return from our Thanksgiving holiday we reviewed our measuring and talked about the best strategies for measuring objects and why. We have been working on explaining our answers keeping the information detailed but simple.
The students enjoyed their Exploration Days constructing designs out of flats, rods and units. They made shapes on geoboards and then copied these onto dotted paper using a ruler. It is good for the children to practice using a ruler to draw lines. It is something some pupils find tricky.

Some of the classes also connected their math knowledge with what they were learning about Hanukkah this week. Ms. Jones's class learned about dreidels and got to play the game with coins in small groups. They had a blast!
